Very Serious Criminal Offences

Crown Court only offences

(indictable offences)

These include:

  • Sexual offences such as those involving children and/or penetration
  • Rape
  • Perverting the course of justice
  • Aggravated Burglary
  • Any form of conspiracy
  • Murder
  • Manslaughter
  • Assault GBH (s18)

If you find yourself charged with an indictable only offence (which means although your case starts in the Magistrates Court no plea is taken there, only indicated, and your case is sent straight to the Crown Court) you are at risk of immediate imprisonment if you are convicted.

You may be easily eligible for legal aid or your application could be more difficult, especially if you have income and/or assets. We have applied for legal aid for all sorts of defendants and our expertise is second to none.

If you find yourself charged with an indictable only offence, you must obtain advice immediately. Our team of solicitors have some 150 years’ experience between them. They have dealt with every sort of offence under every sort of circumstance. Unlike many criminal firms, we have staff dedicated entirely to Crown Court cases who will attend conferences and make sure your barrister has all the information they need to present your case. We will be able to support and guide you through what can be a long, protracted and very stressful process.
